Kaliah & Kylan Burns Owners of of Ksquared Lemonade, Inc. Ksquared Lemonade, Inc., began in 2018 with a garage sale at our Grandparents home in Flossmoor, IL. Our name was KAB’s Lemonade Stand. We just wanted to make a few dollars and we did just that. Kailah plus Kylah makes Ksquared!

Kailah is now 19 years of age young lady, who is a Sophomore attending Alabama A & M University. Kylah is a 16 years of age young lady, who is a High Honor Roll Student in her 10th grade year attending Rich Township High School.

As the months continued to roll by, our customers continued to ask, “when will you guys have some more lemonade?” So when the world was shut down during the Covid surge the idea arose again. While many children across the world were opening businesses of their own and becoming very wealthy Entrepreneurs, we decided to become one ourselves. Our Mother Dana, began those conversations about how to become a business, how to develop a product that people would want more of. So, she encouraged us to go all the way and not just have a business to make a little money but, to become a corporation. Mom had us develop a recipe to keep the consistency of our product. We could also get this product in the stores if we want about this with a plan of action. Can you find Freshly squeezed lemonade in the grocery stores or gas stations? The answer is NO! So we agreed, and Ksquared Lemonade, Inc. was born July 2022.

She says, “this is her legacy to leave for us, so we will be taken care of when the Lord takes her home”. We hand squeeze our lemons to create Ksquared Lemonade. Also, we have 8 variety of Fresh Fruit flavors. My sister and I use freshly pureed fruit to combine with our lemonade recipe to generate a lemonade you will want more of. We currently offer Regular, Diet Regular, Strawberry, Mixed Berry and Pineapple/Mango, Pineapple, Peach & Half Tea/Half Lemonade.(Blackberry-Summer) We are a small Female Black owned business in numbers, but mighty in our personalities, which helps us sell our products. We have sold over 7,000 bottles and out in all of the locations we have been in since conception.

We are grateful that God is allowing us to have this opportunity because we know many children do not have role models in their homes. My Mother allows us to make decisions without over shadowing us. She is teaching us every step of the way. We have learned about using the money that is made to place back into our business, so we can continue to grow and be profitable one day in the near future.
